Walking through the Crosswords bookstore in Mumbai, I stumbled upon a title that intrigued me: “The Bitter Chocolate.” As a dark chocolate lover, I was eager to dive into the pages. However, a quick skim revealed a disturbing reality – the book dealt with child abuse hidden away in the food section.
This seemingly trivial incident sparked a question: Who was responsible for this misplacement? Who took the wrong turn? Was it the book cover designer, the author who chose a creative but misleading title, or the unaware store employee organizing the books? More importantly, did the book reach its intended audience?
This curiosity for “why things are, the way they are” forms the very foundation of my vision.
Design has transcended beyond my profession; it has become lifestyle.
It manifests in how I pack my trekking bag, placing heavier items like shoes at the bottom for stability of the bag, while keeping essentials like towels and chargers readily accessible on top, and also being mindful about equal weight distribution on each shoulder. It influences how I frame my sentences, embracing the force of front-loading. The invisible hand that organizes my life, ensuring that my most frequently used items are readily available, mimicking the intuitive layout of a mobile app.
For me, design has become designing – a noun, a verb.
Apart from designing, a few other things that I like are:
With a knowledge of technical and fundamental analysis, I keep testing my strategies for trading/investing in the Indian stock market.
The graceful dance of 50 EMA lines crossing over 200 at multiple timeframes, the rhythm of the Fibonacci retracement, the whispers of the RSI, MACD plot, or the rising market-cap to sales ratio – all are speaking a mysterious language to me. Someday, I’d like to experiment with bringing these indicators to sales (or any) dashboards to see if they add value.
As a professional musician (percussionist), I have played live music at Radio Stations with Bollywood singers, and I’m also a part of a band called Nadabrahma. I play the African Djembe, Handpan, and Didgeridoo.
After Thanos had attacked Earth, without the internet and the Avengers, I’d like to work as a Trek or a travel guide 😉
I strive to leave this world a little more beautiful and green, participate in the health and wellness of humanity, and create a moment of peace amidst chaos in people’s lives.
If you have this vision about the world, then we are both pointing at the same North Star. Let’s connect and create something meaningful.
